Regional Advisor, (London and the South East), Foundations
Dave moved to Newham in 1984 and lives in Forest Gate with his partner Sandra.
He has worked in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. In the 1980s he set up and developed Newham Care & Repair, a project of Newham Community Renewal Programme. Since then his work includes commissioning services for adults with learning disabilities and managing a funding programme for Care & Repair England. He currently works as London and South-East Regional Adviser for Foundations, the national body for Home Improvement Agencies.
Dave has been a board member of both local and national voluntary organisations including 6 years as a board member for Charities Evaluation Services, now part of NCVO. He is a trustee of the Peter Cowley Africa Trust, which funds small scale development projects in Kenya.
Dave is a former member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has an MSc in international development and an MSc in voluntary sector organisation.
Brother of the Community of Francis and Clare
Anglican Franciscan Friar (professed brother) since 2009, volunteers with the Sisters of St. Margaret helping to organise and run a soup kitchen since 2014, works and volunteers with Praxis Community Projects, a charity working for and with migrant communities since 2013. Areas of specialism include immigration, housing and benefits. Extensive experience in working with single mums who have children but with no recourse to public finds, often cases involving domestic violence.
Eva Catherine Mary Price
With long experience in church pastoral work, Eva has training in benefits & debt advice and advocacy, basic and cross cultural counselling. She has an understanding of immigration issues relating to no recourse clients and a number of practical skills. She worked as Support Manager for Just Homes Women’s Project for 11 years until 2017. She was a founder member of the Alternatives Trust East London volunteer team, working with a similar client group to Just Homes women’s project as a trained adviser, and continues as one of their trustees. She has overseas experience, having worked in Bangladesh for 7 years, speaks Bengali and has an understanding of Asian culture. She continues to work part time as pastoral worker and Elder with her church in East London.
Pia has a background in corporate communications focused on with experience advising senior leaders at some of the world’s best-known financial organisations. She currently works for HSBC as a Director and Chief of Staff, Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) where she is responsible for articulating and executing key strategic and operational initiatives and embedding the vision and strategy into GLCM, an $8.4bn business. In this role, key projects include communications strategies for the World Economic Forum, SIBOS and Eurofinance. Pia is Co-Chair of HSBC’s Flexible Working Network and was previously School Governor and Finance Chair of two Harris Primary Academies.
Christina has over 20 years’ experience of managing supported accommodation-based projects for the homeless and in managing social enterprises. She has been instrumental in growing the charity from a single project with 9 bedrooms to now 60 bed spaces across 7 different premises.
Having completed a masters in physics, she now boasts of a semi accounting qualification and a Prince 2 practitioner certification. A business Analyst holding a BCS certificate and also a Change Management Foundation and Practitioner from APMG, Christina is an all rounder who has held this charity together for its best part.
Her faith and determination is what makes Just Homes Charity work. She has a dedicated team of staff who support her and make it possible to achieve the impossible.
