Julia Margaret Acott
Founder and Director of Alternatives Trust East London, working for the last 25 years holistically supporting vulnerable, destitute women and their children. Counsellor (MA Counselling and Psychotherapy, BSc Integrative Counselling, PG Dip Supervision). Newham resident for 36 years with a passion to make a difference to the most vulnerable in our community.
Eva Catherine Mary Price
With long experience in church pastoral work, Eva has training in benefits & debt advice and advocacy, basic and cross cultural counselling. She has an understanding of immigration issues relating to no recourse clients and a number of practical skills. She worked as Support Manager for Just Homes Women’s Project for 11 years until 2017. She was a founder member of the Alternatives Trust East London volunteer team, working with a similar client group to Just Homes women’s project as a trained adviser, and continues as one of their trustees. She has overseas experience, having worked in Bangladesh for 7 years, speaks Bengali and has an understanding of Asian culture. She continues to work part time as pastoral worker and Elder with her church in East London.
Pia Ellis
Pia has a background in Communications and Business Management, with experience advising senior leaders at some of the world’s best-known financial organisations. She currently works for HSBC as a Director and Chief of Staff, responsible for articulating and executing key strategic and operational initiatives and embedding the vision and strategy into Global Payments Solutions. Pia is Co-Chair of HSBC’s Flexible Working Network and was previously School Governor and Finance Chair of two Harris Primary Academies.

Peter Sell
Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a Partner of Gardiner & Theobald LLP. Over 30 years’ experience of working in the construction industry with 15 of these as a Partner involved in running a large multi-national professional services organisation. Lived with his family in Newham for the last 40 years and has been a local church leader for over 25 years.

Christina Baby
Christina has over 20 years’ experience of managing supported accommodation-based projects for the homeless and in managing social enterprises. She has been instrumental in growing the charity from a single project with 9 bedrooms to now 60 bed spaces across 7 different premises.
Having completed a masters in physics, she now boasts of a semi accounting qualification and a Prince 2 practitioner certification. A business Analyst holding a BCS certificate and also a Change Management Foundation and Practitioner from APMG, Christina is an all rounder who has held this charity together for its best part.
Her faith and determination is what makes Just Homes Charity work. She has a dedicated team of staff who support her and make it possible to achieve the impossible.
